Demand is rising for everyday products like paints and coatings, but most of these products are currently made from petroleum-based chemicals that come with high costs and environmental impact.

Pyran is changing that paradigm, delivering higher performance and lower cost five carbon products all while using an environmentally sustainable process.

After years of development Pyran’s proprietary technology represents the only cost-effective gateway to produce five-carbon (C5) products feasibly on purpose. Pyran uses agricultural products to make 1,5-PDO while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by > 95% compared to petroleum-based chemicals currently on the market. This means that Pyran’s customers can reduce production costs, improve sustainability, and diversify from volatile oil feedstocks.

Pyran is actively moving to the next level of commercialization scaling production of our 1,5-PDO product in Crosby, Texas. Pyran is currently producing ton quantities of product to meet qualification requirements and increased customer demand.

We are also exploring how our technology platform should expand and enable other critical chemical product supply chains and applications.
